Getting shot with a paintball gun can be a frightening experience, especially if it's your first time.  It also leads to a greater question, does paintball paint wash out of your clothes?  Almost all paint from paintballs WILL wash out with normal laundry!

Paintballs are made of only a few different substances.  The outer shell is usually made of a food grade gelatin while the inside is made of a few substances.  One of the main ingredients is polyethylene glycol.  Other ingredients may include food coloring to give the paintball fill the desired color.  With that said, paintballs are biodegradable and non-toxic.

It is promising to know that almost all paintball paint will NOT stain your clothes and will wash out of your clothes.  Cleaning your clothes after paintball can be accomplished by using normal wash cycle in your laundry with detergent and fabric softener.

Occasionally a white residue/powder can be left from paintball paint.  This is caused from some of the preservatives in the fill of the paintball.   Not all paintballs will leave this white residue.  It mostly is associated with the brand of paintball and the grade.  There are a few suggested ways of getting rid of this which include hydrogen peroxide or white vinegar in a 1:1 ratio with water.

With that said, we play a lot of paintball here at Punisherspb.com and very rarely see white residue stick around after a normal wash cycle of your washer at home. So, rest assured that you can wear regular clothes out to your next paintball event.  We recommend still not wearing something really nice as the sport of paintball can be tough on clothes.
