It’s no secret by now that Tippmann is a giant in the paintball industry. They’ve been around since the 1980’s, and they know what they’re doing in terms of durable paintball guns that always work. A recent addition to the Tippmann family of paintball markers is the Stormer Elite, along with the Stormer Tactical. Check out our YouTube video about the Stormer series paintball guns to see how some of the functions of the guns actually work!
Tippmann may not have realized what they stumbled into when they created the main operating system for their Tippmann 98 Custom. The 98 has been around since, that’s right, 1998! At the time of this blog being posted, that puts the gun at 22 years old with minimal to no changes made. Given how far paintball guns have come in the last 20 years, it’s clear that Tippmann were ahead of their time and found something that just works. That’s pretty remarkable and frankly very difficult to do in an industry that changes as fast as paintball. The design is simple and rugged, and the guns last for decades. This durability is one of the main reasons why Tippmann markers are perfect for newer players who don’t know basic paintball marker maintenance
A paintball gun being durable and good for new players can also be stylish and have good ergonomics. The Tippmann Stormer tactical and Tippmann Stormer Elite offer a realistic look and feel to real firearms and definitely caters to the vast number of paintballers who enjoy a mil-sim setup, or “military simulation” setup. Many players like to get into character and make war games out of their paintball excursions, to the point of using paintball guns that store paint in realistic looking magazines, also known as mag-fed paintball. Tippmann’s Stormer series guns are great for new paintball players looking to get into the sport or anyone who wants to experiment with mag-fed without breaking the bank.
The Tippmann Stormer Tactical offers the feel and look that players interested in mil-sim would find desirable. Picatinny rails, 6 point adjustable stock, adjustable foregrip and pop-up sights with a .45 grip and removable front rail system make it a formidable entry level mil-sim paintball marker.
Sharing all of these same qualities, the Tippmann Stormer Elite offers the extra capability of switching the marker from being hopper fed to mag-fed. This allows the player to attend mag-fed events and participate in regular hopper-fed play without running out of paint.
It should be noted that the intervals of the Tippmann Stormer Tactical and Tippmann Stormer Elite both feature the same internal operating system as the Tippmann 98 Custom. Both markers will shoot the same as one another and the Tippmann 98 Custom. The value of these markers comes from the different ergonomics, adjustable stock, aesthetic appeal and of course, the ability to play mag-fed for the Stormer Elite. For only an extra $50, the player gets a lot of versatility over the Stormer Tactical that opens up opportunities for different types of game play.
The Tippmann Stormer Series is a great choice of gun for new paintball players! If you’re new to paintball or going on ten years in the sport, be sure to check out Punishers Paintball for the rest of your paintball needs, and remember to get out and PLAY PAINTBALL!
